Location:
Turneffe Flats is located on the eastern (seaward) side of the Turneffe Atoll approximately 30 miles from the mainland. The trip by boat to Turneffe
Flats takes about one hour in our 48 ft. Pro. The trip takes you
through the offshore keys, the Barrier Reef, and across the Turneffe
Islands to Turneffe Flats.
Our location on a picturesque private point with coconut palms and
white sand beach allows immediate access to miles of wadeable flats,
as well as the best diving in Belize.
Description:
Turneffe Flats is recognized as one of the world's premier saltwater
flats fishing and SCUBA diving destinations. The resort offers full
service, personalized vacations for a limited number of guests.
Imagine awakening in your beach-front cabin to morning coffee or
tea served on your verandah, with thirty feet of white sand beach
between you and a productive bonefish flat, the sound of a sea breeze
through the coconut palms, and a view of the surf crashing on the
unspoiled coral reef for miles in either direction. Your most difficult
decision may be - should I go diving, bonefishing or snorkeling.
Accommodations: The large, comfortable guest rooms
are located on the beach with a panoramic view of the reef. CENTRAL
AIR-CONDITIONING is standard in all rooms. Each room is furnished
with one queen size bed and one single bed. All rooms have private
baths with two sinks and a shower.
Main Lodge: The social center for Turneffe Flats
is the main lodge building where meals are served. A pre-dinner
gathering for hors d'oeuvres and drinks is customary. The large
breezy verandah is a wonderful place to enjoy the evening.
Meals: Meals are a tasty combination of Belizean
and American dishes served family-style. Fresh fruit, fresh seafood
and fresh baked pastries are standard fare.
In the morning you will be awakened with fresh coffee or tea served
on your cabin verandah. A hearty breakfast of fresh fruit, cereal,
eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage and fresh baked goods is served from
approximately 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Management will have talked with you the prior evening about whether
you prefer to take lunch or return to the lodge for lunch. Lunch
at the resort is a fairly substantial meal.
Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails are served at 6:30. Dinner at 7:00
is the big meal of the day and the focal point of the evening. Entrees
vary from seafood, chicken, pork and beef.
Bar: The bar is well stocked with at least Scotch, Bourbon, Gin,
Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Vermouth and several liqueurs. In addition,
we have red & white wine as well as local Belikin beer.
Activities:
Turneffe Flats is a excellent and well known scuba diving, snorkeling
and sport fishing destination.
For non-fishing/non-diving companions of anglers and divers at Turneffe
Flats there are special activities available.
